I acknowledge the First Peoples – the Traditional Owners of the lands where we live and work, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. I pay respect to Elders – past, present and emerging – and acknowledge the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Tasmania’s evolving cultural sensibilities .

STATEMENT

Kirsten Ritchie, I am seeking election for a seat on the Launceston City Council as a Councillor and I am also a candidate for the Deputy Mayor's position. I am taking this opportunity to run because I am passionate about the people and the community of Launceston

I wish to be a part of putting the heart back into the city and working towards making way for a diverse and thriving future .

I have now been a resident in the city for 13 years and in the past six I founded a not-for-profit organisation Strike It Out Inc. Tasmania

I am a strong advocate for the people who are less fortunate and homeless. Launceston's "homelessness problem" is actually a housing problem and that needs to be addressed.

I am most comfortable working at the grass roots, caring for people and doing so with compassion.

I look forward to hearing from you about your issues and making a stand for you around the table where Council makes its decisions.
