I acknowledge the First Peoples – the Traditional Owners of the lands where we live and work, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. I pay respect to Elders – past, present and emerging – and acknowledge the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Tasmania’s evolving cultural sensibilities .

COMMUNITY

ONE COMMUNITY MANY VOICES

The world over a diversity of voices are looking for alert ears willing to listen to their needs, their aspirations, their problems. As the evidence of dramatic change is more, and more evident for all too many of our 'representatives' look for ways to hold their ground against change, a diversity of voices need to be heard .

However, if you are outside 'the system' your voice becomes less and less audible as it is drowned out by those looking to keep things just the same, comfortable and predictable.  It is just the case that change is upon us and there are voices that want to be heard, that need to be heard, and far too many are being lent a deaf ear.

No longer are communities made up of people with much the same things they wish to see happen in their community. They need representative voices wherever they can be found, voices prepared to listen to disparate voices, voices willing to speak up for them.
